5th Grade State Championship Team bios:
Lynnfield (CAL)
The Lynnfield 5th Grade Boys Travel Basketball Team completed the season
with 25 wins and 3 losses after this past weekend’s Cape Ann League championship
tournament. The league includes teams from 16 communities on the North Shore.
The highlight of the tournament featured Lynnfield’s Jake Burt winning the 3
point shooting contest and Lynnfield’s Nick Eliopoulos winning the free throw
contest.
Hamilton-Wenham (CAL) The Hamilton Wenham Generals are the 5th Grade Boys
Cape Ann League Champs finishing with a 17-0 record this season. The team won
many close games including two contests that went into double overtime.
Offensively the team features an up-tempo game and balanced scoring. Defensively
the Generals are tenacious on the ball, and very strong rebounders.

Holiday Tournament runner-up 2007, 2008 St. Mathews, New York CYO Invitational
runner-up. 45-7 overall record

Methuen (MVBB) Methuen East 5th Grade Boys are the Champions of their
Division in the Merrimack Valley Youth Basketball League. The team started out
strong by winning the Billerica Pre-Season Tourney and had 15 wins in division
play, while capping off the season with their Division Championship. The team is
coached by Jason Beers (Head Coach) and Frank Cann (Assistant Coach).
