7th Grade State Championship Team bios:
North Andover (MVBB)
- 3 yr undefeated MVC Champions going 74-0 in those 3 yrs.
Overall record in tournaments 146-8 in 3 years. Undefeated this year
against 7th grade teams going 40-0 and 42-2 overall - last year 49-1 in
all games.
North Reading (CAL)
- The North Reading 7th grade basketball team won the South Division of the very
strong 6th Grade Division of the Cape Ann Youth Basketball League with a 10 - 2
record. The team won its first three games in the league playoffs, before bowing
to Masconomet in the championship game, 45-43. North Reading’s comes into the
state championship with an overall record of 25 – 10.
Rockport (EL) Rockport is a
competitive team from a small town. 5th grade runner up in EL with a record of
15-4, 6th grade champs in EL with a record of 16-4, 10-2 record this year
(playoffs currently under way)
Lynnfield (CAL) The
Lynnfield 7th Grade basketball team capped off a great year (14-6 overall, 9-4
in the Cape Ann League) by qualifying for the State Tournament. The team played
a very aggressive defense which lead to a high scoring offense (avg 55 points
per game). Congratulations to team players included Patrick Kearney, Anthony
Mancini, Stephen Carangelo, AJ Gallo, Tyler Noe, Conor Sullivan, James Hook,
Eddie Moore, Jimmy Fagan, and John Klug
Stoughton (MWBB) The Stoughton
7th grade boys basketball team, coached by Tiffany Middleton and Glenn
Middleton, consist of the following players:Jaylen Alston, Joe Bunce-Grenon,
Aaron Calixte, Michael Connelly, Pat Jackman, Andrew Kelly, Will McGrath, Marcus
Middleton, Dwayne Patterson, Alex Petitpas, Isaiah Robinson, and Andrew Nunes.
The team captured their second consecutive championship this year in the
Division 1 Metrowest Basketball League.
Masconomet (CAL) Masco
has won the Cape Ann Travel League title two years in a row. The team moves the
ball well and plays excellent defense - they are looking forward to competing
with the best 7th grade teams in the state.
Westford (CMYBL) The Westford 7th
grade boys were this seasons Central Mass Champions. We finished the season with
a league record of 11-1. Overall, this season we had a record of 24-6 against
other 7th grade teams with two solid tournament wins and one-second place
tournament finish this season.
Leominster (CMYBL) The Leominster
Travel Team had a very successful 2007-08 season finishing in first place for
their Division. They entered the playoffs as the #1 Seed and advanced to the
finals with two strong first and second round wins before losing to League
Champion Westford in a hard fought battle by 3 points. The Leominster Boys
Record is 25-9 overall with 1 Tournament Championship and 2 Second Place
Tournament Finishes.
North Andover (CAL) We finished
11-1 in the Cape Ann regular season play, losing only to Gloucester. In
the tournament, We lost a close opening round game to Hamilton Wenham, won the
next 4, and lost to CAL Champion Masco on Sunday.
Needham (MWBB) Needham 7th Grade
Boys play in the Metrowest League - Division 1. They had a 10-2 regular season
record and finished in 2nd place in playoff tournament in a very strong league
Lynn (NSSL) The North
Shore Suburban League champions play a fast paced game with great defense
Wakefield (MVBB)
Wakefield had a great season at 22-3 in the Middlesex Travel League
Hamilton-Wenham (CAL) - The 7th
grade team from Hamilton-Wenham is led by center Brad Kimball, forward Ryan
Macri, and guards Nick Fusco and Brian Nicoll. Kimball and Macri are the team
leaders in scoring, rebounding and shot blocking, while Fusco and Nicoll are
responsible for running the offense and providing outside scoring. In addition,
the team has key contributors in tenacious guard Ben Kozlowski, ferocious
forwards Jason Diskin and Matt Lorizio, and versatile guard Ryan Daff. The
Generals won the CAL title when they were in the 5th Grade and went far into the
playoffs in the 6th and 7th succumbing to league champion Masco in hard fought
games
Beverly (EL/CAL) The
Beverly 7th grade team qualifed for the State Tournament with a strong showing
on the final day of the Cape Ann play-offs, going 2-1 on Sunday. The team will
consist of guards Dom Abate, Ryan Shipp, Kenny Pierce, Cam Rogers and Chris
French, and forwards Brendan Flaherty, Dave Rollins, Harry Brown, Mike Dooling,
Anthony D'Orio and Kevin Dyer.
Milton (MWBB) - Winners of the
Metrowest 7th grade division 2 Championship - undefeated the whole season with a
margin of victory by 20 points or more in their regular season games |
